The wide viewing angle of 114 degrees is utilized so that it is possible to easily fit the subjects into the frame - even for indoor shots - where the distance is limited. The world looks amazing with the new lens, which makes it possible to take pictures and record movies with a unique, deep perspective. This high-performance lens system is incredibly compact, combining 16 lens elements divided into 12 groups into one system, including 2 aspherical lenses and 4 ED lenses. Image resolution is high from corner to corner even at wide angle setting. Thanks to the large diameter of the molded lens elements, F4.0 is also achieved in brightness for the entire zoom range. When the lens is mounted on the Lumix G Micro System camera, it gives the opportunity to use the advanced AF function, including e.g. AF Tracking and face recognition, which make taking pictures more practical and fun. With the seven diaphragm blades, the aperture gets a round shape, which gives a nice effect when zooming out at larger aperture settings. The lens is also equipped with a robust metal base and uses multi-coated lens elements that minimize flare and ghosting to further improve its optical properties. The optimally designed lens filter can be used even in bright sunlight. The standard Micro Four Thirds System makes the camera compact and easy to carry.
