Design & reliability

The Pro 8 is optimized for demanding environments, with hot-swap power supplies, modular design and ample 2U rack space. This NAS offers redundancy and reliability, suitable for business-critical applications.

Performance & caching

Thanks to the dual 10G SFP+ and 10G RJ45 connections, you can use high-bandwidth connections. The M.2 NVMe slots serve as a cache layer or tiering to make access to datasets faster. In practical tests, when using multiple HDDs in RAID compositions, it has already been measured that throughput can reach hundreds of MB/s, depending on configuration and disks (see Ubiquiti's optimization guidelines).

Network & extensions

The UNAS Pro 8 offers two 10G SFP+ ports and a 10G RJ45 port. This gives you flexible options for connectivity and redundancy. Lacking an eSATA port or HDMI output, this model is purely focused on network storage.

Software & management

All management functions are done via **UniFi Drive**: user management, snapshots, backups, RAID settings etc. This model is **not compatible with UniFi Protect**, so common for video surveillance is excluded.
