Extend PoE over existing cabling

This Ubiquiti UniFi PoE Over 2-Wire Retrofit Extender makes it possible to transport PoE over existing 2-wire cables or coaxial cables, such as RG-6. This is ideal for buildings where cabling is already present and where installing new Ethernet cables is not practical. The transmitter receives PoE++ and converts it for transport over 2-wire, after which the receiver delivers PoE+ to the connected device.

Distance and performance

Depending on the cable type and cable length used, network bandwidth and PoE power remain available over long distances. Both data and power are transported via the same cable. This makes the extender suitable for various Retrofit scenarios.

Hardware and security

The housing is made of polycarbonate and the units support ESD and EMP protection. The extenders are powered via PoE and have a maximum self-consumption of 3W (without PoE output). The current status is displayed via a white LED indicator.
