Ubiquiti UniFi Security Gateway

The Ubiquiti UXG-Pro is a professional dual-WAN security gateway with advanced firewall for medium to large networks. This complete network security solution protects your network with features such as deep packet inspection (DPI), intrusion detection and prevention systems (IDS/IPS) and an extensive firewall configuration.

The UXG-Pro is managed via the UniFi controller software, which is interesting for IT organizations that also want to manage other Ubiquiti hardware (such as switches and access points) via UniFi. This distinguishes this unit from the UniFi Dream Machine gateways, which can only be managed via a built-in controller. For remote management, the UXG-Pro can be combined with a Cloud Key Gen2 Plus.

Connections

The gateway router has 2 WAN ports (RJ45 and SFP+) with failover support and 2 LAN ports (RJ45 and SFP+) with sufficient bandwidth capacity for demanding network applications. Thanks to the advanced hardware and software, you have a safe, fast and very stable internet connection. The Ubiquiti UXG-Pro also allows you to create a VPN connection between 2 networks, for example to gain secure access to the company network at home or at a customer's home.

VLAN and QoS

The UniFi Security Gateway offers VLAN support so you can create separate networks, for example for different departments within your company. To ensure that telephone calls and video streams always run smoothly, UniFi applies Security Quality of Service (QoS). With QoS, the router automatically gives priority to voice and video traffic, so you won't be bothered by slow videos or stuttering calls.

Processor and memory

To handle the many simultaneous connections and amount of data, the Ubiquiti UXG-Pro is equipped with a fast 1.7 GHz quad-core processor. This means that the throughput speed is also high when using functions such as QoS and DPI. The UXG-Pro also has 2GB DDR3 memory and 4 GB of flash memory for configurations and firmware.

UniFi Controller software

As mentioned earlier, the Ubiquiti UXG-Pro is managed and configured via the UniFi Controller. With this software, all your Ubiquiti hardware (such as switches and access points) can be viewed and coordinated at a glance. You can even manage multiple locations at once. The software offers various monitoring and analysis tools to always keep an eye on your network in a clear manner.
