The Kingston IronKey™ Keypad 200 is an operating system-independent hardware-encrypted USB memory stick with an alphanumeric keypad for convenient PIN code use. The KP200 is equipped with 256-bit hardware-based XTS-AES encryption. It is also FIPS 140-3 level 3 certified (approval sought) for security for military use with further development that further strengthens data protection. Its circuitry is covered in a layer of special epoxy that makes it nearly impossible to remove components without damaging them. The hardened epoxy coating prevents tampering with semiconductor components. The memory is designed so that any tampering is visible so that the holder is immediately warned. It is also equipped with protection against full scan attacks to crack the password and BadUSB protection with digitally signed firmware. The alphanumeric keypad is coated with a polymer layer that protects the keys and prevents fingerprint-based analysis of key usage. The KP200 has a built-in rechargeable battery that can be used to unlock the memory first, without using software, and then connect it to a device that supports USB type A mass storage devices. This gives users maximum flexibility on different platform types and operating systems. With multiple PIN options (admin/user), the keypad can be configured with an alphanumeric PIN (easy to remember, but hard to guess) for admin or user. The administrator can reset the user's PIN code and grant access to the memory if the user forgets his code or if the memory is blocked after the maximum number of login attempts by the user (10). With both the administrator's and user's PINs enabled, the KP200 blocks the user's PIN after ten failed login attempts. If the administrator's PIN is entered incorrectly 10 times in a row, the full scan attack protection will crypto-erase the memory, permanently destroy its data, and restore it. The memory also has two levels of read-only mode – a global mode that can be set by the administrator and a session mode mode that can be set by the user. The read-only modes can protect the memory from malware from untrusted systems. In addition, the administrator can enter the content and set the global read-only mode so that the user has access to the data, but cannot make any changes.
